Control Techniques and Leroy Somer are part of the Industrial Automation business within the Nidec Group and is a leading provider of motors and motor control (e.g. Variable Speed Drives) plus power conversion technology for commercial and industrial applications. Our innovative products are used in the most demanding applications requiring performance, reliability and energy efficiency to enhance the productivity of our customers’ machines and processes.
Role Overview:

Working with all involved in bringing new products through concept, design, trials, launch and soft release to customers. This position is the glue that allows all project activities to link together in our constant pipeline of new product development.
The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will include:

Enhance department capability by developing & managing Technical support infrastructure change projects.
Manage the new product introduction (NPI) support team by providing product expertise to support the introduction of the product into manufacturing and the sales channel.
Work with the Engineering & Development (E+D) Project Managers, Product Management team and Manufacturing as part of the NPD Cross Functional Team to schedule new product introduction to production and roll out to the sales channel to:

Define the support strategy and needs for new products.
Plan and manage introduction of products into production and sales channel by ensuring all required documentation, training, tools and accessories are available.
Monitor factory yields for new products with Manufacturing and Design teams to hit process/product targets.
Work with Product managers to identify and approve initial adopting customers.
Manage the customer feedback and improvement process.

Qualifications, Experience and Profile:

Must have a minimum of 2 years working in the variable speed drive industry.
Must have technical appreciation of Drives and Automation Systems that they sit within.
Proven Stakeholder management in a Projects environment.
BEng / BSc of higher in Electronic / Electrical engineering or higher.
Supervisory experience leading Project Engineers and Technical Specialists.
Project management qualifications or experience.
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
